    Enabling Lives Foundation is a non-profit organization that focuses on creating enabling environments for individuals and communities to thrive. The organization makes use of education as its key tool in bringing about social change. With its core values; advocacy, empowerment and respect for diversity, the organization aims at enabling individuals and communities to assume control over their environments. Enabling Lives Foundation strongly believes that community engagement and partnership with government and civil society organizations can leverage public policy in ensuring quality of life. The objectives of this organization are to promote health and education in communities to ensure quality of life; strengthen community action through participatory approaches targeted at community development; and build the capacity of youth to take up opportunities their environment offers.

    PROMISE stands for Promote Maternal & Infant Survival Excellence; it was developed by Dr. Linda AmarkaiVanotoo in 2008 out of a desire to identify the reasons for the high still births and maternal deaths recorded in the Western Region of Ghana where she worked as the Regional Director of Health Services. Since then PROMISE has grown to embrace the whole spectrum of continuum of care from the unborn child through childhood to adolescence and then adulthood. Dr. Vanotoo also developed the PROMISE DRIVERS which are a set of twelve intervention areas which she believed would contribute to improvement in maternal, newborn child and adolescent health. The drivers go beyond the three delays which have been documented as contributing significantly towards poor pregnancy outcomes including maternal deaths.
